I see willingness to relinquish control over our data &#038; usage habits as a grave error. The benefits of the PC &#039;revolution&#039; and an open internet, along with the fact that everyone today carries a cellphone camera, are potentially the best hope to save our world from totalitarian excess.]]></description>

Indeed, he&#039;s right!! Ouch -- this is what I get for theorizing through a solution, without actually testing the code.

The reader indicates that a line:
&lt;pre&gt;&lt;code&gt;110 START=( (X-1)*ROW + (Y-1) )*MAXLEN + 1&lt;/code&gt;&lt;/pre&gt;
Will have the intended result.  My original line, simply results in x+y :(]]></description>
